These terms are the agreement between you and André Santana ("us", "we") when you use the Glaner iOS app. Please read them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
What Glaner is
Glaner is an iOS application that takes a photo of food you already have, sends it to a recipe engine to detect ingredients, and returns recipes you can cook with what you photographed. It is intended for personal, non-commercial use.
Glaner is not a medical or nutritional service. The recipes and estimates we surface are best-effort and may contain mistakes.
Your account
Glaner does not have user accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log into. Your saved data lives on your device. If you uninstall the app or reset the device, that data is gone.
Glaner Plus subscription
Glaner offers an optional subscription called Glaner Plus, sold as monthly, yearly, or a one-time lifetime purchase.
Free trial
The monthly and yearly subscriptions begin with a three-day free trial. Apple does not charge you during the trial. You can cancel any time before the last 24 hours of the trial and you will not be charged.
Billing and renewal
After the trial, the subscription renews automatically at the price shown in the App Store at the time of purchase. Renewal is handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Apple will renew the subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage renewal and cancellation in iOS Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions.
Lifetime
The lifetime option is a single, non-refundable purchase. It grants Glaner Plus access on the Apple Account that bought it, for as long as Glaner remains available and Apple continues to honour the receipt.
Refunds
Refunds are governed by Apple's standard policy. You can request one via reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not process refunds directly because we do not handle the payment.
Price changes
If we change the price of a subscription, Apple will notify you and ask you to agree to the new price before charging it. If you do not agree, the subscription does not renew.
Allergens, diet, and food safety
Glaner asks you for allergens and diet so the model can avoid them in recipes. Two things you need to know:
- Detection of allergens in a generated recipe is best-effort. Always read the ingredients list yourself before cooking, especially if an allergen is severe. Do not rely on Glaner alone to keep you safe.
- The ingredient detector identifies what is visible in the photo. It cannot see ingredients that are obscured, packaged, or hidden, and it can mis-identify items. Cross-check the detected list before cooking.
If you have a severe allergy, treat Glaner as a recipe suggestion service, not a safety tool.
AI-generated content
Recipes and ingredient detections are produced by automated models. We take care to keep them reasonable, but we cannot guarantee they are accurate, complete, balanced, or free of errors. You agree to use your own judgement when cooking.
What you can and cannot do
You may use Glaner for any lawful personal cooking. You may not:
- Use the app to harass or harm other people.
- Use the app in violation of any law that applies to you.
We may suspend or terminate your access to Glaner Plus if you break these rules.
Intellectual property
The Glaner name, logo, and design are ours. The recipes Glaner generates for you are yours to cook, share, and remix. We make no claim on what you do in your own kitchen.
Disclaimers
Glaner is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available in every country.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of Glaner. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law in your country.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will surface a notice the next time you open the app. Your continued use of Glaner after the change counts as acceptance.
Termination
You can stop using Glaner at any time by deleting the app. We can withdraw access to Glaner Plus if you breach these terms, and we can discontinue the app at any time. If we discontinue the app, we will honour any active lifetime purchases by giving reasonable notice and, where required by law, a pro-rata refund.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. The Portuguese courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the protection of any non-derogable provisions of the law of the country in which you live.
